Description and Objectives :

For decades, CQFA has offered introduction and familiarization courses tailored to aviation professionals such as aerospace engineers, flight simulation experts, training device designers, administrators, lawyers, economists, accountants andd others involved with air carriers, regulators, manufacturers, technical support organizations and insurers. To date, thousands have been successfully trained, sometimes discovering a whole operational world of which they were only vaguely aware. The benefits are immediate: the new knowledge and vocabulary directly applicable to their daily work, improved efficiency and productivity as well as enhanced comprehension risk and safety management.

CQFA's General Aviation Basics covers the fundamental of single-engine airplane flying, the Canadian Air Regulations, aviation meteorology, the fundamental of the theory of flight, the basic flight instruments usually found in light aircraft. Also covered are radio communications and visual navigation. The program may include a visit at a control center and a simulated flight in our airline jet simulator.

Educational Approach:

All programs are adapted to your specific needs. Several approaches are offered to cover the 48 hours, from 16 3-hr evenings to regular daytime classroom. All programs are available at our Dorval training center although courses may be given in your organization during or outside work hours.  Complete handouts are supplied to all participants, and a CQFA Certificate of Achievement.
